Frequently Asked Questions

What is Remote Data Entry?

vcapture takes secure snippet images of the fields on your forms, and sends them out to an Internet workforce of real people – what we like to call Human Technology – reducing your workload, maintaining data confidentiality in a simple workflow, and giving you high quality 100% accurate results.

How does Remote Data Entry work?

vcapture enterprise integrates into your existing data capture platform. Each form image is prepared for remote data entry by extracting snippet images of each data field on the form image. These field snippet images are scrambled and sent out from the vcapture enterprise server via SSL to the vcapture remote data entry service. At the remote data entry service, the secure snippet images are presented in a web browser to Internet workers who perform the remote data entry.

The keyed data is then returned to the vcapture enterprise software, attached to the appropriate form, and exported back into your data capture platform.

What are the components of the vcapture software?

  • vcapture module – A system specific module that plugs into existing third-party document processing software.
  • vcapture server – A headless service that facilitates secure communication with vcapture’s remote data entry servers.
  • vcapture integrate – An application used by systems integrators to configure vcapture for optimal performance.

What technology does vcapture use?

vcapture utilizes secure, modern platforms including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and the Microsoft.NET Framework and requires minimal maintenance or management.
